Howdy,
Welcome to Field Mag, a modern outdoor lifestyle publication for lovers of good design and the great outdoors. Each week our New York City-based editors publish a wealth of original content to inform and inspire readers to get outside and explore the world around them.
Field Mag was founded in 2015 by outdoors lover/design nerd/writer/photographer Graham Hiemstra and developer/designer Chris Stillitano in a one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, New York. Our little corner of the internet is operated by a skeleton crew of dedicated media types and contributed to by an expanding list of award winning photojournalists, professional athletes, and many more writers, photographers, and other buzzword types from more than a dozen different countries around the globe.
We make content for people like us—for uncompromising city dwellers obsessed with aesthetics who live for weekend adventures and the next big trip. We hike, camp, climb, ride bikes, and snowboard. We brown bag beers in the park between bouldering sessions and on the beach when the waves are shit (and don’t worry, we always recycle). We may not be claiming KOMs or PRs on a daily basis, but we once set up a Strava account with the idea to do so.
We are nature loving, multi-hyphenate folks of many backgrounds making content for all the other weekend warriors out there looking to get inspired for their next holiday, to learn about raddest new gear, or simply to find a visual escape that pairs perfectly with that second mid-morning coffee.
Thanks for being here with us. Hope you enjoy your stay.
xoxo
