During your many escapist daydreams, maybe you've found yourself wanting to stay in a renovated grain silo under the wild Montana sky. Or, perhaps you've just come to this conclusion now. Either way, this property is for you. With major attractions in and around the nearby town of Whitefish, this Rocky Mountain retreat is a welcoming alternative to the Live.Laugh.Love options proliferating rental search results the world over.
Officially open as of late May 2021, this farmstead hotel features five habitable silos, all lined up neatly on the Clark’s family farm.
Located in Kalispell, MT, the property sits between Glacier National Park, Whitefish, and Flathead Lake, so seasonal activities like snowboarding, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and the like are all nearby. And it's all world class.
As for the property itself, each of the five silos features a rustic-modern-camping chic interior decor, with exposed beams, the omnipresent Pendleton blanket, and a little sprinkle of mid-century furnishings. A kitchenette, bathroom, small living area, and lofted sleeping area with a king-size bed make up the total circular square footage. Outside you'll find a private fire pit and, of course, spectacular views of the farm.
And if you're wondering where the dang old "life-size soup cans” came from in the first place. Well, the Clark family found them on a fellow farm outside of Couer d’Alene, ID, where the silos held grain for much of their working life. Rather than being sold for scrap, they were disassembled piece by piece and brought to the Clark’s site to be set in place and renovated into the retreats they are now. The rest is what you see now.
With the property the Clark family hopes to help guests experience an all-around awesome vacation while providing a distinctive space to relax and unwind. The silos location and design surely deliver.
So, support a family farm, treat yourself to a relaxing vacation, and breath in the fresh, fresh mountain air of the Treasure State. What more could you ask for?
