Located in the Catskill Mountains just 2-3 hours north of New York City, Eastwind Hotel and Bar is a year-round boutique hotel complex inspired by nature and driven by Scandinavian aesthetics. And best of all, they recently added 10 prefab cabins and A-Frame glamping huts to their varied line-up of accommodations, all imports from the Slovenian eco-tourism focused manufacturer Lushna. (Consider this the perfect way to try before you buy, for all my fellow aspiring cabin owners out there.)
Founded in 2018 by a group of friends in the fashion and service industries, the hillside Eastwind estate features a total of 26 guest rooms spread across a main bunk house, detached secondary house, and the new Lushna’s A-Frame Eco Cabins and cottage suite models. The property includes a bar, a wood barrel sauna, and fire pits—aka all the ingredients for the perfect fall or winter weekend.
And it's all surrounded by the Catskill wilderness with panoramic views of Windham Mountain.
Each 400-square-foot Lushna Suite cottage features a queen size loft bed, lounge space, writer's nook for the creatives and/or workaholics, fridge, and an en-suite bathroom. For outdoor lounging, accompanying each cabin is a private deck, outdoor shower, hammock, and fire pit.
The 220-square-foot Lushna A-Frame cabins offer little more than a bed and picture-frame window. Consider it a wooden tent, with outhouse and sauna nearby. Sounds kinda nice, doesn't it?
Rates start at $329/night for the Lushna A-Frame and $429/night for the private Lushna Suite Cabin.
