In the unfinished novel Mount Analogue by René Daumal, a group of explorers, scientists, and artists attempt to climb an invisible mountain that exists on an invisible continent that can only be viewed from a specific point when the sun hits it at a specific angle. This, and the otherworldly pallete of the New Mexico desert, have informed the new collaboration between Canadian footwear maker Norda and Portland-based ultralight design studio gnuhr to release 12 PM ET on 29 January 2026.

Cleverly called gnorda, the 10-piece collection of footwear and apparel showcases a unique combination of aesthetic design and innovative material choices unique to these two brands pushing the core running and outdoor industry in new directions. As in the Daumal's peak, gnorda is material proof that each brand sees in technical gear something that nobody else seems to perceive.

Norda founders Nick and Willa Martire share a background in fashion with gnuhr's Nur Abbas, who designed for Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton, and others prior to launching his own semi-eponymous label. Both brands also hold a belief in stripped-down, purpose-first values when it comes to gear, which is visible throughout the collection that includes two footwear styles and a full kit of technical pieces for hiking and running.

“gnorda focuses on the idea of minimum construction for maximum effect, stemming from both brands’ guiding principle of using the absolute best materials with the most pared-back and effective process,” said gnuhr founder Nur Abbas in a press release.

The philosophy is at work in Norda's footwear, which employs super-durable and lightweight materials like bio-circular Dyneema. In gnorda, a retooled version of its low-stack 002 ($295) trail running shoe comes with a simplified upper alongside an aqua-tinted iteration of the 008 ($145), a recovery slide made with dual-density EVA foam and a thin Vibram outsole.

Gnuhr's contribution includes the ultralight Breaker Wind Shirt ($349) and Wind Pants ($259), both made in Japan with ultralight fabrics, the Polartec Alpha Shag Zip Hoodie ($149) that works as either mid or outer layer, and the Warp T-tank ($139), a warp-knit Italian nylon top with cut lines that give the wearer a total of 36 ways to customize the length, sleeves, and neckline. Performance leggings with cargo pockets, lightweight liner shorts, a graphic tee (which is particularly good), and branded socks round out the collection.

Announced today at Paris Fashion Week, the full gnorda collection will be available for purchase from 12 PM ET on 29 January 2026 from gnuhr and from Norda directly.
