An 11-minute short film where forest nymphs and water spirits lure hikers off their path might be an unconventional medium for introducing a new collection of gear. But Klättermusen, with its off-center zippers and liberal application of daisy chains, has always been a little unconventional. Folklore is part of the Swedish outdoor experience, so why shouldn't a Swedish outdoor brand use the supernatural entity Vittror and a poetry-laced script set to genuinely spooky visuals to introduce us to the new rain jackets and backpacks? Well, they should. And they did, with the Go Feel Wild collection.

With the 50 year old outfitter making an effort to expand reach in the North American market—and besides that, it being a longstanding favorite around FM HQ—we had to dig in deeper.

The first of three spring/summer 2026 collection drops from Klättermusen, Go Feel Wild is focused on hiking and trekking with all-new pieces accompanying updated styles and fresh colorways. Standouts include the Asynja, a lightweight summer rain jacket made to balance strength and durability for hiking, and the Gungne, a 43-liter pack with a flexible frame and pivoting harness for comfort during multi-day treks. Hiking pants, insulated jackets, and lightweight shirts round out Go Feel Wild to cover everything a hiker might need (in this realm or another).

"Our collections grow from how we move, what we need, and what we’re curious about," Isabelle Liahaugen, Klättermusen head of design and development, told Field Mag. She notes the ventilated Barrö Shirt and the windproof Vingner Anorak as favorites—both use a unique fabric called Oculus that's soft and dries quickly, making them ideal for summer hiking. "That moment where function feels almost effortless—that’s the real hero for me."

Despite the eerie storyline, the short film "Forest Bound" does a good job of making the season’s gear look especially good against a backdrop of rugged and beautiful Scandinavian wilderness. The collection theme—go out and feel the wild (even if there's a chance you end up turning into a tree)—is all over the film, which draws inspiration from children’s stories aimed at teaching the importance of respecting nature and never venturing into the wilderness alone. Lessons best heeded by hikers of all ages.

At the root of the reason behind "Forest Bound" is the brand's belief in storytelling and slow consumption, including in media. "We wanted to do a proper film, against all modern marketing best practices," Klättermusen creative lead Paula Maso shares. The idea to bring in Nordic folklore stories came from director Jens Nilsson of the Stockholm-based production team The Bunch, who produced the film.

Though the well-fitting equipment catches the eye, it’s Sweden’s varied and awe-inspiring (and often harsh) environments that both make the film and the gear. Founded in the village of Åre, Klättermusen began as a DIY workshop founded by local climbers in 1975. "Our brand was born in the north of Sweden, and we’re still tied very much to the place, both physically and spiritually," Maso told us. "We wanted a focus on the Scandinavian approach to hiking and nature at large."

Though freaky, unsettling, and mysteriously captivating, "Forest Bound" gets the point across. Made with the durability, comfort, and weather protection necessary for trips into the wilderness, the range of waterproof jackets, wind layers, insulators, packs, and more that make up Go Feel Wild does too. And if there's a chance you'll encounter spirits on your next hike, having a reliable jacket with fully taped seams and a weatherproof bag on your back can’t hurt your survival chances.
