If you’ve found your way here you probably don’t need to be told not to wear your ski shell in the city. That’s a given. Still, it’s worth repeating. A classic Mackintosh jacket will always win points, but needless to say, dropping in on a piece that pricey isn’t an option for everyone. This brings us to the Elements Anorak from Everlane, which is as far as we can see, the most affordable waterproof fishtail parka you’re gonna find.

The distinctly minimalist design is made of 3-layer waterproof cotton/nylon blend fabric with heat-bonded taped seams. There’s no MM waterproof rating given, because it’s Everlane, but we’d wager it’s capable of keeping the elements out in pretty much all conditions you’ll find yourself in while running around town. “Everest ready. Sidewalk Approved,” as they say. Ha.

Additional features include laser-cut underarm holes for ventilation, an adjustable hood and cuffs, phone pocket with headphone cord thingy, and an extra long cut to cover your caboose. Oh, and the fishtail hem adds a bit of style. Can’t hate that.
