The Oregon Coast is arguably one of the most beautifully rugged stretches of coastline in the United States. It’s diverse and unique ecosystems and impressive landmark sea stacks that line the beaches are always a marvel to see with your own eyes, let alone through a camera lens.
On the calmer southern shores of Coos Bay is Bay Point Landing, a new design-driven resort for outdoor loving travelers with luxurious amenities and impressive views just steps from the bay’s salty shores. During a recent road trip up the coast from Los Angeles, we decided to take a pitstop and see what all the fuss was about.
The hub-like clubhouse is beautifully sleek and modern, and comes complete with an indoor pool, indoor gym, and community gathering space (all currently under COVID restrictions) with floor to ceiling windows to remind you that nature is always within reach. The wraparound deck that encircles the clubhouse deserves a mention too, giving the perfect elevated view to watch seabirds skim over the glasslike water.
Spread out among 100 acres of manicured wilderness, Bay Point Landing offers a well rounded property designed to satisfy most any traveler's needs. Upon booking your stay visitors have three options for accommodations on the property. Bring your own RV or adventure-mobile and enjoy a seaside rv site complete with full hookup (50/30/20 amp, water, sewer, and cable). Bay Point's own updated Airstream suites offer a similar experience for those without a fifth wheel of their own.
But our favorite are the ocean-view, modern micro cabins located just steps away from the shore. With three styles to select from—Kamp Haus, Dune Cabins, Drift Cabins—parties of up to six will find the fully furnished tiny houses comfortable and efficient.
Whichever you choose, each camp selection is equipped with a stone fire pit, picnic table, and the best of all, the property is dog friendly.
Bay Point Landing also has a welcome desk/mini mart stocked with any camp items you may have forgotten to bring on your journey. If this place doesn’t help you reset and recharge, we don’t know what will.
