It’s safe to say that travel—particularly extended international travel—is on the mind at the moment. The word “escape” comes to mind. And well, this new collaboration from Brooklyn menswear and home goods label The Hill-Side and Pennsylvania’s Woolrich is designed for movement both in and outside of the city. Consisting of five new designs—a daypack, backpack, tote bag, weekender duffel, briefcase—the bag-based collection features something for everyone, from the briefcase or backpack-loving commuter to those looking to get out of town (or the country) for an extended period of time.

We've seen quite a few collaborations from Woolrich in recent years, but this uniquely-modern line is an absolute highlight. Big shouts out to The Hill-Side brothers Emil and Sandy Corsillo for working with Woolrich to create something totally fresh, rather than slapping some plaid on an indigo tote and calling it a day.

While each of the highly-considered designs holds its own allure, we’ve found ourselves most drawn to the Daypack, as well as the Briefcase. Both are small enough to be used daily, but can at the same time hold a surprising amount of stuff. As with the rest of the line, durable, weather-resistant 900 Denier nylon fabric makes up the hardwearing body, with ballistic nylon reinforced panels. The interior of each is made in iconic Woolrich red neoprene, allowing you to better see what you’re looking for. Sturdy YKK 2-way zippers are used on main compartments and YKK waterproof zippers on secondary pockets.

Additional details include a Buffalo check leather patch and modest bit of Woolrich Buffalo check wool trim, for good measure. Brass snaps referencing those found on early vintage Woolrich hunting apparel add hints to one brand’s heritage, while the overall designs stay firmly rooted in contemporary fashion.
