With the 2016 Rio Olympic Games coming to a close this weekend we thought we’d take the time to both honor this year’s games, and those that came over a century ago with the Fleet DB Silver Edition bicycle by Freddie Grubb. The limited run, handbuilt bike commemorates the two silver metals the brand’s namesake cyclist won at the Stockholm Olympics in 1912. Though the late Frederick Grubb did not found the contemporary brand, he is, of course, a defining source of inspiration. And this incredibly handsome road bike does well to honor the accomplish British cyclist and frame builder.

Working off the brand’s modern Fleet model city bike, the special silver edition offers numerous upgrades, most notably being redesigned drop bars, trigger brake leavers, and Sram Automatic three-speed internal hub. Each double-butted CroMo frame is built with precision and finesse, which can be clearly seen in the custom lugging and cast fork crown, rack and fender eyelets. Every component down to the incredibly sexy seat post and classic leather saddle is well considered.

Available in three sizes, the made-to-order bike is beautiful enough to be a wall hanger, but built as a daily rider.
