Despite it's size, major American fashion retailer J. Crew selects its collaboration partners carefully, especially with NOAH's Brendon Babenzien helming the menswear ship. Even so, their newest capsule collection with the budding British brand Atlantic Coastal Supply caught me by surprise.
Released 6 June 2025 in select brick and mortar stores and online, the ten-piece Atlantic Coastal Supply x J. Crew collab features a tight set of basics infused with the salty, ocean-faring style ACS does so well.
Hailing from the cliff-lined shores of Cornwall, Atlantic Coastal Supply maintains a line of "durable classics for life around the ocean, inspired by midcentury marine exploration," founder Shawn Lowry tells me. Look for premium loopwheel cottons basics, British knitwear, and some real seaworthy gear–wetsuits, swim fins, and dive masks.
Even though I'd really love to see some J. Crew mannequins rocking fins and dive masks, the brand's buyers are likely a bit too conservative to go for any of the aquatic gear. Instead, the collaboration favors imprinting coastal graphics and ACS branding on basics like cotton dad caps, hoodies, and tees.
Turning up the nautical dial a little further still, the multi-pocket fishing shirt (available in white or blue-striped cotton poplin) speaks directly to fishier folks in the room (ahem), with an embroidered mackerel on the chest punctuating its design cues. Continuing, the white cotton Dockyard pant reframes the classic work pant for piers and ports, while a recycled nylon windbreaker completes the ensemble handsomely.
Surveying the collection, the pieces that hit hardest to me look right at home with the rest of the main line ACS clobber. So, that’s a win in my book.
