It's no secret we here at Field Mag HQ are fans of Danner, the iconic Portland, Oregon-based boot maker. We've trusted Danner boots to take us from the peaks above Machu Picchu and streets of Colombia to the expired volcanoes of the PNW, without complaint. This matters why? Because it means our enthusiasm for the new Danner x United By Blue Bison collaboration isn't BS.

The capsule collection includes a men's and women's boot silhouette made with waterproof bison leather along with a beanie and sock, both made of a merino wool and bison down blend (bison down is a sustainable by product of the bison meat industry). The attractive and highly functional collection is the first collaboration from the two brands, and an attractive one at that.

The collaboration sees a classic American heritage brand come together with a forward thinking outdoor lifestyle purveyor, the latter of which being United By Blue, a Philiadelphia-based brand that champions sustainable production and environmental activism.

The two bison boots use our preferred Danner model, the Danner Light, with a beautifully pebbled bison leather outer, Gore-Tex waterproof liner, and heavy-duty lugged sole. Each is made by hand in Portland, Oregon. And the socks, you can gather from the materials that they're naturally temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking.
