Let’s start out by stating two facts. The first being we obviously have a thing for backpacks, and the second that we also have a thing for Tanner Goods. So when we caught wind the Portland-based outfitter was releasing an outdoor-inspired update on their well-loved luggage collection, we just had to help spread the news. Plus, the Cypress Collection marks the first time TG—best known for making heirloom quality leather goods—has introduced a mix of natural and synthetic fabrics.

Within the capsule collection are four recognizable styles—the Wilderness Rucksack, Voyager Daypack, Everyday Tote (designed with hauling vinyl in mind), and the Drifter Dopp Kit—each updated with lightweight, water resistant, and highly durable 1000D Cordura fabric. Additionally, as one would expect, hardwearing 18 oz waxed filter canvas makes up the rest, with thick as can be leather straps and in-house made brass hardware.

Of the four we have to admit the rucksack and daypack are our favs. Each with a unique style that’s both distinctly modern yet tied securely to military heritage designs. It’s minimalism done right. Not too little, and far from too much. Internal sleeves made of soft felted wool ad supple leather keep your laptop and other essentials safe and secure in transit, and an exterior pocket or two serve as easy accesses storage.

And of course, it’s all made under one roof in Portland, Oregon, home to Forest Park, the country’s largest public park within city limits, where the supplied images were shot. So, that’s that. Head over to TG for more deets.
