The classic Levi’s jean jacket has long been synonymous with motorcycle culture. But in reality, in the event of a crash the lightweight denim shreds through in half a second. Sketchy stuff, you’re right. This new kit from SF outfitter Taylor Stitch stands strong where others fail, literally.

The Long Haul Jacket and Moto Jean are each made in California of hyper strong Dyneema. How strong? Dyneema is literally trademarked as “Woven with the World’s Strongest Fiber.” It’s 14x stronger than steel, yet soft as cotton. And comprises 52% of the aforementioned jacket and jean combo, making them seven times more abrasion resistant than regular denim.

Needless to say, there are plenty more protective kits from major moto brands available. But, if you’re looking for apparel that won’t make you look like Robocop or an X-Games athlete yet still offers protection in the event you lay your bike down (really, we mean bicycle or motorcycle), this is it.

Three additional pieces from the Moto Collection include the ever-appealing Cap Toe Moto Boot, Buffalo Plaid Utility Shirt, and the ever beautiful Leather Moto Jacket. The first is a classic leather boot with resoleable Goodyear welt, made by hand in the world’s capital of shoe making of Leon, Mexico. The second is a dang handsome 100% cotton flannel made in California and available in three classic colorways, and the latter is a legendary quality classic jacket made in San Francisco by iconic jacket manufacturer Golden Bear
