These days it feels like we can’t write a dang style story without going gaga over merino wool. For good reason though. But this, this is something different. Kinda. Los Angeles-based active apparel maker swrve has launched a Kickstarter for their new men’s capsule collection—four garments and a camp cap made of a hyper-durable wool blend that’s 10x more abrasion resistant than 100% merino wool fabric, not to mention over 2x stronger, and even more tear resistant.

The fabric in question is called Cordura combat wool ripstop—a 49% wool, 48% nylon, 3% spandex blend—and it’s by all accounts the most badass material we’ve yet to meet IRL. It’s naturally anti-bacterial, moisture wicking and temperature regulating, and still insulating when wet.

It also lends itself especially well to the four military-esque silhouettes we’re here talking about. This includes a short sleeve button-down with double-layer shoulder panels and two chest pockets, a long sleeve iteration, work jacket (our favorite) with three large front patch pockets and pen pocket, and an unstructured blazer with similar styling capable of easily making the transition from workshop to office and then a night out. A basic five-panel camp cap rounds out the lot.

Each piece is available in three colorways—a military olive, earthy brown, and classic navy—and available through the Kickstarter at half price. Come for the material innovation, stay for the understated and very wearable design.
