Snow Peak Insect Repellent Pants & Parka

Forget the bug spray, this mesh kit has got you covered this camping season

Since 1958 Snow Peak has produced some of the best designed camping and outdoor equipment on the market. And with the addition of founder Yukio Yamai’s daughter Lisa Yamai as lead apparel designer a few short years ago, the Japanese mainstay has quickly attracted an even wider audience with an extensive line of attractive and often times inventive apparel for men and women. Though each season’s line is full of bold designs and creative uses of sillouhetes, hem lines and pocket placements, there’s always a few stand outs. One holding our attention with images of mosquito swarmed campfires in our minds is the Insect Shield Parka and Pant.

Made of super fine, insect repelling mesh fabric, the parka and pant combo pack up small and are meant to be worn over a normal outfit when the bugs are at their worst. We’ve all been there, seated at a beautiful campfire on an otherwise perfect night just getting eaten alive by no-see-ums with little hope in sight. Well, toss this outfit on and you’ll be safe—the parka even zips all the way closed (including the hood) to create a real bug net environment. And the pants feature two through pockets so you can still access your pants underneath. Pretty clever, huh?

The two piece kit is available in multiple color ways, including camo (yes!), and plenty of sizes for both Japanese and American markets.

$195 for the Insect Shield Parka, $130 for the Pant
