Previously we’ve sung the praise of North St. Bags, a small, Portland, Oregon-based manufacturer of, you guessed it, bags and backpacks and other things of the like. The Pioneer Hip Pack is perfect for traveling, and the lightweight, waterproof Davis Day Pack is an EDC for us here at TF HQ.

We also often profess a love for Japanese design. And so, this new collaboration between North St. and fellow Portlanders Kirko Made, a retailer of traditional Japanese textiles, is obviously right up our alley.

Though called a “collection,” the limited-edition collab is comprised of just two pieces—a Davis pack, and a rather clever little travel pouch called the Pittock. Each is made by hand in Portland, using 1000D Cordura (available in a handful of colors) with indigo Kiriko textiles for accent and added texture. They’re simple, yet functional, just as it should be.

Check our previous review of the Davis for all the details on that pack (TL;DR it’s great). For us, the 4.5” x 6” Pittock organizer is the real highlight. Use it to organize wires and chargers while traveling, as a carryall wallet, or a small essentials organizer when backpacking (it weighs just a couple ounces at most). Plus it sells for just $15.

When the Pittock dropped a short while back, we bought one within seconds, thanks to some serious FOMO. Lucky for you, it looks like North St. will be keeping the little pouch around for a while, and likely even adding more designs to the collection. Even still, don’t sleep on this one.
