Photo Bag Brand Langly Introduces Weatherproof Jacket for Photographers

From camera bags to fully functional outerwear, this LA-based brand is an adventure photographer's dream

For photographers and avid travelers alike, Los Angeles-based Langly introduces the Field Jacket, a 3-Layer weatherproof top layer designed with serious functionality in mind, both in terms of protection against the elements and performance in gear storage. The classic M-65 inspired jacket just launched on Kickstarter, and will surely catch the attention of adventurers looking to step up their travel kit.

Photographers out there may recognize the Langly name—photographer Evan Lane launched the brand in 2012 with a focus on functional camera bags that didn’t look like camera bags. Over the years the cleverly designed bags garnered a cult following in the internet/IG/photography community, introducing a range of carrying options that have done well to not stuck in the canvas and leather rut—something that clearly shows in the outerwear move. The core of the brand has always been to pack tons of hidden, useful details where few would think to look, which continues with the Field Jacket.

Throughout the jacket, reinforced snap-flap pockets (lined with RFID-blocking material to keep travel documents safe) hide an accessory tethering system, allowing photographers to access lens wipes, lens filters, spare batteries, SD cards, etc, without running the risk of dropping precious gear in the dirt. Pretty clever.

In short, if chasing waterfalls in the PNW, overloading in Iceland, or shooting street scenes in all conditions is your thing, then this jacket might just make your life a whole lot easier.

$289 from Kickstarter with delivery slated for Dec 2018
