Every June, just as summer is kicking into gear, Mt. Hood, Oregon is swarmed with snowboarders and skiers looking for the illusive endless winter. Luckily for them, The lifts at Timberline Lodge almost never stop turning, year round, and since 1989 High Cascade Snowboard Camp has been the worldwide Mecca for summer boarding. This year though, our pal, pro snowboarder, and TF contributor Austen Sweetin had a lifelong dream fulfilled by hosting his very own Signature Session, being the toast of town (though calling Government Camp a town is quite a stretch).

Over the course of the week+ long session Austen hauled his favorite film camera around on hill, snapping pics of fellow pro boarders, campers, etc. And when the weather turned and his reign as KOM ended, he packed up his snowboard and went west with a few pals, through Portland to the coast. A day of surf at Oswald West State Park aka Short Sands Beach, aka Shorty’s, was the perfect way to wrap a week of Oregon boarding.
